Sanford Regional Airport serves private planes. Enterprise Rent-a-Car
Portland International Jetport, located approximately 35 miles from Sanford. Served by American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, USAir, United Airlines, and Northwest. Ground and area transportation from limousines and luxury cars to taxis and vans.
Manchester NH Airport, located approximately 70 miles from Sanford. Served by Air Canada, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, Pan Am Clipper Connection. Ground and area transportation to and from the airport is readily available.
Boston's Logan International Airport, approximately 90 miles from Sanford. Served by all major airlines. Ground and area transportation for getting to and from Logan
By Train:
Amtrak to Boston South Station. Continuing service with Amtrak Downeaster to Wells Maine. Ground and area transportation available to Sanford about 15 miles away.
By Bus:
The WAVE bus operated by York County Community Action provides bus service from the Park-and-Ride lot in Biddeford. The Shoreline Explorer operated by York County Community Action provides bus service from the Wells Transportation Center
Parking:
On-street parking is available on part of Main Street and side streets. Off-street parking is available at the Mid-town Mall, Post Office lot on School Street and behind Town Hall.

Getting here from the south:
Take Exit 19 of the Maine Turnpike and follow Route 109 northwest for 13 miles
Getting here from the east:
Take Exit 32 of the Maine Turnpike and follow Route 111 west for 17 miles
Getting here from the north:
Take Route 109 southeast from Sanbornville, N.H. for 18 miles
Getting here from the west:
Take Route 202 northeast from Rochester, N.H. for 16 miles
Getting around by bus
York County Community Action Corp run three different kinds of buses through downtown Sanford.
“My Bus” is an hourly service between Springvale and South Sanford. Fare is 50 cents, half that for seniors, disabled people and children under 8. Click here for a map and schedule.
“The Wave” is a van service that provides door-to-door service to jobs, training sites and children to daycare. Fares vary according to destination. Rides must be arranged 48 hours in advance by calling 459-4283.
“Sanford Ocean Shuttle” connects downtown Sanford to points south including Marden's Plaza Shaw's Plaza, the Sanford Regional Airport, the Downeaster train stop in Wells and Hannaford Plaza in Wells. It runs seven times a day. Fare is $3 for one way and $5 for a round trip. Click here for a map and schedule.
